Je Suis Ashley
For someone who loves to write, and often writes semi-autobiographical stories about their life, I have a really hard time writing about myself. I never know what information to include, or if any of my life is boring to some. I do not want to get into too much detail, but I do not want to leave you wanting more. So let's see how well I can do.
I was born on November 19th 1988, making me 19 years old. I am hidden away in the depths of Canada, where the winters are extremely cold, and our summers overly hot. I live in a boring little town, where everyone knows your name, and nothing is a secret. I was born and raised here, and long for the day I get out, as this town is to small to hold all of me. Do not get me wrong, I love where I am from, but when you've lived in the same area all your life, and you know just about everything about everyone, it gets a little unbarring after a while. This town doesn't have much to offer, we don't even have a shopping mall, I have to drive a hour away to find just about anything. We have a theatre and some fast food chains, and that is pretty much it. Not much keeping me here eh?
I have a huge family, but I live with my Mom, my stepdad; David, my younger sister; Candice (age 17) and various pets. My mother has another daughter which she adopted; Yolanda who is over 30 now, although I have not seen her since I was eight so I forget all the details. Mom also has a 24 year old son named Kevin. I have a father, of course, and a step mother, and they have a seven year old daughter; My sister Hannah. If anything, she comes before all my friends, family and even my boyfriend. She means more to me than anyone, and she is also the only reason that I still have any contact with my father. Other than the obvious, the next closest family members are my Nana; Mom's mom, my Aunt Sonya, and my Uncles Daryl & John. Among them I have many cousins and of course they are all married (or in my aunt's case, was three times), but that is to many names to mention. On my dad's side there are my three uncles; Vernon, Alton and Darrell. Quite the family eh?
I can usually be found typing away on my laptop, hanging with my friends or hanging with my boyfriend Jordan. If I am not doing those three things, I am reading a good book, writing stories and poems about love and happiness and friendships that are flawless, things I often daydream about as well. While doing these things, I am usually listening to some music or watching a movie or a show on TV. However, I do spend a lot of time outside, especially in the summer, which is my favorite season. You can find me taking walks, swimming in our pool, or just sunbathing on our hammock, or hanging out at the docks feeding the ducks. I live a balanced life, but a boring one.
Besides writing and reading, my hobbies consist of taking photos, although I would not call myself a professional. I like to think that I take ok photos, and maybe one day I will look into Photography for a career. I always carry my camera, a snow white Sony Cybershot, you never know when you might see something worth taking a picture of. This is not really a hobby, but communication is important, therefore I am never without my new LG Rumor, I am constantly texting, and I hardly ever use the phone for talking.
I am undecided of what I want to do with the rest of my life. I've had my taste of schooling, and working at a fast food restaurant is just as unpleasant as they all say. I am currently thinking about Digital Photography, even if I do not go big, I will have something as a skill, and then maybe later I can look into something I would really love to do, such as journalism. But to do either of these, I have huge fears to overcome, and a long hard road to follow.
As for my personality, it's quite hard to describe, as I can be anything you want me to be. I can be mature, sensitive, kind, outgoing, thoughtful, bouncy, annoying, loud, obnoxious, quiet, emotional, shy, immature, mean, close, distant .. I can be anything I want to be. Labels do not define me, I define me. I am kind, gentle, and perfectly flawed. I am opinionated, yet I do not really have an opinion on anything. I speak my mind, but hardly say a word. I am a major contradiction, but most of all, I am human.
