Furry Friends
Beloved Animals
My mom had always had big dogs for pets, so finally she decided to get a lap dog. On November 19th, 2002; my 14th birthday, Mom got Keisha. She was so small, and had no teeth, I mistook her for a black and white sock when I spotted her. She's an easy going dog, but when she has a bath she runs around like crazy. She is also very jealous at times, she'll actually push her way through to your lap if she wants. When I moved out in July 2009, I took Keisha for a drive over to check out the new house. She loved the area and ran around happily. Mom decided then that Keisha would be better off out in the country and allowed me to take her with me. She's not our only dog and is spoiled rotten.
When I moved I had planned on taking 2 of the cats with me (Rocky and Fudge), but Jordan fell in love with Lily so he became part of our feline family. You may be wondering about his name; I love Harry Potter so I named all the kittens from one litter after characters from the book, before knowing their genders. After he got older, we noticed that he had boy parts, but we didn't think it would be right to change his name. Lily was born with cloudy eyes, and we're not sure if he can even see out of them. But despite that, he is a very loving and caring cat. Lily is the 'mother' cat to younger Rocky and Fudge, and constantly licking and cleaning them.
Rocky is a sweetheart, but will never let that show because of his manly exteror. He's very protective of his younger sister Fudge, he's never far from her side. He is also very playful and loves attention. We've nicknamed him Scamp cause he's constantly getting into trouble. Rocky likes to cuddle and will lay right on your chest and pur himself to sleep. He also has one cloudy eye, though it seems to be getting better with time. He is a very curious cat and loves boxes and bags. Rocky is definitely a daddy's boy, following Jordan around everywhere.
Fudge is my favorite animal of them all. I think she is the most adorable kitten ever, and I fell in love with her the moment I saw her. She was going to be the only one I took with me, but after one of their siblings got killed by a dog, I couldn't split Rocky and Fudge up. Fudge is a baby, and loves to be carried around like so. She'll lay with you all day if you let her, and loves sitting on your computer where it's nice and warm. She doesn't like tongues, and will try to scratch yours if you stick it out at her. Fudge is a mommy's girl and loves kisses. Pizza pockets are the only human food she'll eat by the way, must be cause Jordan and I both love them. Fudge died on December 14th 2009. She was extremely sick and died suddenly. I love you very much Fudgey.
Sookie doesn't exactly belong to us. She was sitting on our back doorstep when I moved in, I petted her and she followed me from then on. Our neighbour was feeding her, so he thought he could just stick a collar on her and claim her. But she got the collar off and hangs out at our house all day everyday. Sookie stays outside, and is normally found laying on our patio chair. Sometimes at night she'll come in if it's cold and stay in until the other cats bother her too much. She doesn't mind Lily, will hiss at Rocky, and will hiss and swat at Fudge. Sookie meets me at the door every morning when I let Keisha out, and is there when I get home from work. We feed her and make sure she knows she's welcomed inside any time. She is always catching me presents but gets bored and eats whatever mouse or bird she's brought me. We named her Sookie cause she's a big baby. Sookie disappeared this fall =(
