How I Got Started

I was merely 13 or 14 when I started web designing with Piczo. I forget what the first site was called, but I quickly grew bored of it and made a new one. The sites were never anything more than an outlet for me and a place to rant and post pictures of my friends. It was like a personal photo journal, and because of that, I lost interest in the many Piczo sites I had made.

It was not until 2007 I started a Piczo site called ForeverTheSilence, and later it was changed to HeartlessWind, again it was just mainly about me and my friends, until I got a few visits from other people, and a few reviews were made about my site. They were all looking for visitor content, and I honestly thought that my site sucked without it. So I hurried and tracked down some 'layouts' and 'photography' and 'icons' that were on another 100 sites already. I regret that decision majorly.

On January 1st, 2008, I moved to Freewebs after wanting a challenge, only to find out, Freewebs was not all that complicated. By the time of Heartlesswind.piczo.com I was dedicated to my site. I loved maintaining a site, and when I moved to Freewebs, I was able to look more professional. Not long after, I got hosted, however problems arose there and it somehow got deleted, so I moved back to Freewebs for a day, and I got hosted again. Another problem arose and I moved back to freewebs. I gave hosting one more try, and all was well for a month or 2, until then once more, the same problem arose and I had to move back to Freewebs. I got fed up, and my mom was fed up as well, she knew how much web designing meant, and bought me my own domain on March 23rd, 2008.

Behind The Name

I am a total Linkin Park fan, so it was only obvious that I would go buy their new cd Minutes To Midnight. I got listening to the cd, and in one song, the line the heartless wind kept blowing .. blowing stuck out to me, and I became obsessed with it. I have no idea why that particular line struck me the way it did, but I knew that I was not going to rest until I had HeartlessWind on every site, as every user name. I had it everywhere, and doodled it constantly. I was literally in love with a line of a song.

When I had to decide what I wanted my domain name to be, I first thought HeartlessWind, but I wanted something different, so I asked around and came up with Starkissed .. which I liked, but was not really sitting well with me. After contemplating for hours, I decided to go with HeartlessWind, as it was something personal to me. Linkin Park made a huge impact on me in my late teen years and helped me through some of my hardest times, so yeah, a random line from their song means all the world to me.
